Keeping kids safe

Wednesday, 18th June 2014

Every week in the UK around 40,000 children and young people are taken to A&E. Of those, 2,000 are admitted and 13 will never recover from their injuries.

Yet many of the incidents that put them in hospital could have been prevented and that’s why Pressgang is once again helping to sponsor the work of the Children’s Safety Education Foundation (CSEF).

The organisation is dedicated to providing every child with the knowledge to make informed decisions when faced with risk or danger, including fire and road safety, drugs and alcohol, bullying and the perils posed by mobile phones and the internet.

CSEF area co-ordinator Michael Fitzgerald said: “It is the right of all children to be kept safe in a world that continually presents new threats and dangers.

“Thanks to companies like Pressgang we have been able to influence the safety awareness behaviour of over one million people. This success has been down to the decisions made by people such as you.”
